Mr Hashmi, the senior-most lawyer at our firm, originally headed the firm’s corporate practice for many years, spearheading multiple complex and innovative domestic and international transactions, including Pakistan’s first seven (out of eight completed till date) approved securitisations, privatisation of United Bank Limited (one of the top three largest banks in Pakistan), Karachi Stock Exchange demutualisation, acquisition of National Development Finance Corporation’s portfolio by National Bank of Pakistan and privatisation of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (largest Pakistani company in terms of market capitalisation).
Subsequently, Mr Hashmi shifted to the firm’s litigation practice, and has since appeared and argued some of the most complex and high-profile litigation before all High Courts in Pakistan and has obtained favourable judgments and orders in a variety of cases. He has also represented several prominent business groups, financial institutions and media houses in contentious matters before the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Mr Hashmi now oversees both corporate and litigation practices of the firm. He brings with him an unmatched wealth of direct knowledge and experience of working on purely corporate as well as litigation side of commercial matters.

Over the years, Nazif has had diversified experience in the legal field by way of involvement in a broad spectrum of domestic and cross-border transactions covering local and foreign currency denominated corporate finance, project finance, Islamic finance, debt restructuring, debt security issuances (including Reg-S bonds, green bond, sovereign and privately placed sukuks), mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other non-contentious, commercial matters.
He currently heads the corporate practice of the firm with a team of more than a dozen corporate lawyers.
Bahzad Haider is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and is a member of Supreme Court Bar Association, Sind High Court Bar Association and Karachi Bar Association.
At the firm, he heads the litigation practice and leads a team of about a dozen lawyers and paralegals.
Bahzad Haider has a vast experience of arguing a whole range of commercial law matters before all five High Courts in Pakistan and before regulatory authorities. He is a most proactive lawyer who has won petitions and other cases involving some of the most contentious legal issues within the shortest possible time. He is equally comfortable arguing before civil and criminal courts.
In the Supreme Court too, Bahzad Haider has represented some of the leading corporations, business leaders, financial institutions and media houses in high-profile cases.
Mr Ali is a senior member of our litigation team, having been part of the firm for more than a decade, and has handled numerous commercial cases before almost all High Courts of Pakistan. He regularly represents financial institutions in recovery cases before Banking Courts and High Courts.
In his capacity as manager – litigation, he oversees all logistical and operational areas of the practice.
