Altan Ahmed

With nearly a decade of experience, Altan’s practice focuses on Finance, M&A, Projects and REITs. Throughout his career, he has led transactions exceeding in aggregate ~US$20 billion. These include syndications, project finances, leveraged buyouts, Islamic facilities and other structured facilities, along with the full spectrum of DCM and ECM issues by way of private placements and public offerings.
His recent notable transactions include successfully leading PIA’s PKR 268 billion debt restructuring with the banking industry of Pakistan; acting as borrower’s lead counsel on the project financing for the largest bridge in Pakistan and the largest river bridge in South Asia; successfully leading the formation of more than a dozen REITs with an aggregate valuation exceeding PKR 200 billion; successfully leading the creation of Pakistan’s first asset fractionalization model, now deployed in high-rise towers in Karachi; and successfully leading the establishment of a pioneering, first-of-its-kind credit framework between Pakistan’s largest energy company and almost all domestic banks, governing debt financing exceeding PKR 500 billion per annum.

Over the years, Altan has had diversified experience in the legal field by way of involvement in a broad spectrum of domestic and cross-border deals in the fields of banking and finance, capital markets, and real estate investment trusts (REITs).
