Today, on a petition filed by A&Q on behalf of Firdous Shamim Naqvi’s family, being the sponsors of Sohni Saiban Housing Project, a division bench of Sindh High Court consisting of Justice Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi and Justice M.A. Khan, restrained Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) from taking any adverse action against the Project.
In his arguments, Bahzad Haider (Head —Litigation, Advocate Supreme Court) argued that while there was absolutely no issue regarding the title, building plan approvals or any other matter relating to the Project, officials of SBCA had, without issuing any notice and without being in possession of any written order, had just turned up to demolish the Project.
Upon hearing A&Q’s arguments, the Honorable Bench restrained all the respondents including SBCA from taking any adverse action against the Project.
