Representing MG Motors, A&Q had challenged the Final Assessment Order of Collector of Customs (Appraisal), Lahore through which the Customs Department had demanded from MG almost PKR 1 Billion as unpaid duty.
On behalf of MG Motors, Bahzad Haider, Advocate Supreme Court, argued the matter before Collector of Customs (Appeals), Lahore. After hearing both sides’ arguments, the Collector had reserved her judgment.
Today, A&Q won that case as Collector of Customs (Appeals), Lahore announced her order setting aside the Department’s claim against MG Motors declaring it as illegal.
